Baptisms
Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which one becomes a Christian, a member of the Body Christ, a partner with Christ in the world of saving the world, and an inheritor of the Kingdom of God.
It's
an event of importance and celebration both for the individual
Christian and for the whole church. Parents and godparents who present
children for baptism discover that their participation has a profound
effect on their own spiritual lives. Adults who come to be baptized
experience this as a crucial step in their journey of faith. At least
one parent or God Parent of a child being baptized is required to be
Baptized themselves. Adults who wish to be baptized must do so
with the intention of becoming a member of Grace Church. Baptisms are
celebrated on Sunday mornings, during the 10:00AM service, several
times throughout the
church year. Parents and Godparents gather for an evening of baptismal
preparation before the day of the Baptism. Adults desiring to be
baptized undergo a course of study in the weeks leading up to their
baptism.
