On Sunday, we celebrate the Eucharist at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. We celebrate Youth Leadership Sunday during the 10:00 AM service. Come support our young people as they help to lead us in worship. Sam Gould, Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Massachusetts will preach.

Outreach Corner

Food is needed for the food pantries that Grace Episcopal Church supports. Food items may be placed in the baskets just outside the main entrance to the sanctuary (an usher can help you locate them). The item for Sunday, May 19 is coffee. The item for Sunday, May 26 is peanut butter or sunflower seed butter.
Kids Corner
Thanks to all of the Sunday School and Wednesday Night teachers and assistants in our Grace Church education programs. You help to enrich the spiritual lives of our families and we are grateful. Youth leadership Sunday (this Sunday, May 19) marks the end of Sunday School classes for the summer. Also, our Wednesdays at Grace programming ends with our potluck and celebration on May 22, 2013. We hope you can join us.

Grace Church pays $192 for each camper that attends the Barbara Harris Summer Camp.If you would like to contribute to our camp scholarship fund please see James or place a check in the offering plate on Sunday. Anderson Scholarship Applications
are due June 10
Applications are now available for students pursuing continued education in the Fall of 2013 and want to apply for the Anderson Scholarship. Printed applications are in the Parish Office above the mailboxes or by email by contacting Carol at office@gracemedford.org. They are due to the Grace Church Office by June 10, 2013.
Eligibility & Requirements
Per the conditions of the donor, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
Be an active member (or family or friend of an active member) of Grace Church.
Enrolled or recently accepted in an institute of higher learning.
Copy of College Acceptance Letter
If already enrolled in a college, submit a copy of the upcoming course listings or unofficial transcript.
The applicant should be a student in good standing, participant in active community service, including church, community, and/or school programs. Preference will be given to applicants who have actively participated in Grace Church programs. Contact Branwen Smith-King for more information.
Green Up Clean Up at Wright's Pond
All are encouraged and invited to help clean up at Wright's Pond onSaturday, May 18 from 9:00AM to 2:00 PM. In the past, Grace Church has worked to clean up Wright's Pond in the spring, and has celebrated this work with an outing to Wright's Pond after church during the summer. Please join us!

Class on the Episcopal Church
Are you interested in learning more about the Episcopal Church? Margaret Smist & Rachael Pettengill-Rasure will be teaching a class on the Episcopal Church this Spring. The class will take place on Sundays at 8:45-9:45am on April 21st & 28th, May 12th, and June 2nd & 9th. If you are new to the Church OR if you have been part of the Episcopal Church for a while but want to learn more about the tradition you are encouraged to join us. Book Club
The Book club meets on the third Thursday at 7 pm at a volunteer host's house. On May 16 we're discussing Abide with Meby Elizabeth Strout. And on June 20 we'll watch and discuss the film

Community Garden
Looking for a fun Memorial Day activity? Kathryn Benjamin and Eva Englert will be putting together raised beds on Monday, May 27, starting at 11AM at the church. The construction of the beds will be in preparation for Planting Day on June 1. Calling all gardeners, families and healthy food lovers! Come join us for Planting Day on June 1 from 10AM to 1PM.Come out and meet some new folks, get your hands dirty and be a part of this new amazing opportunity in the Medford community! Bring along your shovels, rakes and gloves!
We're raising funds to purchase necessary supplies (soil, plants, tools etc.). Help us to make the Grace Church garden a reality by bringing a donation (whatever your budget will allow) OR a contribution of any of the garden supplies on the list below.
Requested Supply List
·Soil- flower and vegetable garden soil; we need 25 bags, 2-cubic feet's worth in each)
·Tools (20 spades, shovels, and/or rakes)
·Seedlings
·Watering cans
·Trellis for climbing plants
·6 pieces of 8-inch long UNTREATED wood (cedar is good), or 4 pieces of 12-inch that can then be cut into the 4-inch sides of the beds, plus a bit extra for the supports
Snow Policy 10 AM services will not be cancelled except for extreme circumstances. If the 8AM service or the 10AM service is to be cancelled, an announcement will be recorded on the church answering machine by 7:30 AM Sunday.
