Planned Giving
"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Luke 12:34)
Grace Episcopal Church encourages planned gifts in support of the mission and ministry of the parish. The twin purposes of planned giving are set forth in The Book of Common Prayer, page 445:
- To encourage parishioners to protect their families by having a will, and
- To encourage Christians to include the church in their wills or other estate plans.
Planned gifts may be bequests in wills, life income gifts, or gifts
of real estate and life insurance. Planned giving is an important
ministry to our congregation and to the church.
Our intentions are guided by the belief that good Christian stewardship
includes protecting our families and loved ones through sound and
careful estate planning, and sharing the ultimate distribution of our
worldly goods with church organizations that are important to us.
Making a will—one type of planned gift—is an important part of
Christian stewardship, yet 50 to 70 percent of Americans die without
making a will.
